Lody

Lody is a shared workspace for the coding agents a team already uses. It connects agent sessions and development machines through desktop, mobile, web and CLI interfaces, so teammates can inspect work and continue a conversation without passing screenshots or copying terminal logs. The official repository is Apache-2.0 licensed.

Key features

  • Shared conversations: Teammates can view transcripts, runtime status, files and code changes, then add instructions in the same session.
  • Existing agent accounts: Claude Code, Codex, Kimi, OpenCode and other ACP-compatible agents can use the subscriptions, logins, models and permission modes configured on connected machines.
  • Parallel work: Separate Git worktrees keep sessions' changes apart. Conversations can be forked to explore another approach.
  • Review beside the task: File browsing, per-turn or session diffs, line comments, pull request status and CI information stay near the agent conversation.
  • Remote control: Connected workstations, servers and cloud VMs can receive work from another device. Machines stay private until their owner shares them with a workspace.

A practical workflow

Install the desktop client from the official download page, sign in and add one local project. Configure an agent you already use, then give it a small task with an explicit acceptance condition. Review the diff and test result before asking it to open a pull request.

For a remote machine, follow the quick-start prerequisites and run:

npx lody daemon start

The documented device-code login connects that machine to the workspace. First confirm its project and agent configuration, then dispatch a short task from the web or mobile interface. When splitting investigation, implementation and testing, use independent sessions and worktrees, and inspect results before combining changes.

Pricing and limitations

As checked on October 4, 2026, the free plan lists two workspaces, 200 sessions per workspace, 30 conversation turns per session and up to three team members. Plus is billed per accepted member of the upgraded workspace, and enterprise terms are custom. Check the live pricing page for the current monthly or annual quote; this entry does not fix a promotional paid price.

Lody says it charges for the collaboration workspace rather than adding a markup to AI tokens. Agent subscriptions or model-provider charges remain separate. End-to-end encryption is marked as forthcoming on the pricing page, and the README says full local-first support is still in progress. Neither should be assumed already complete.

FAQ and alternatives

Does Lody replace a coding model? It coordinates agent access and teamwork; your chosen agent and provider still perform the work.

Can a phone control a server session? The official workflow supports dispatching to connected machines and reviewing progress and permissions across devices.
