CCBaga
CCBaga is an MIT-licensed desktop toolkit for maintaining the local workspace used by Claude Code and Claude Desktop. It combines a native control app with an isolated companion browser: the former can inspect recognized local Claude data, archive or restore local workspace state, and surface platform settings; the latter reports observable browser and environment information back through a local session. The project is independent and states that it is not affiliated with Anthropic or Apple.
What it does
- Local workspace management: The app can inspect recognized default Claude data, archive a current local identity, restore a saved one, or start an empty workspace. Its documentation says project source outside Claude directories is not scanned.
- Review before destructive changes: It distinguishes archive and direct-delete actions, names the state that will change, and documents recovery handling for interrupted switches. Custom
CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIRlocations are a stated limitation. - Environment visibility: The companion browser can report network exit, country, timezone, language, platform, CPU count, engine version, and location-setting measurements. A successful check is not a guarantee of anonymity or account acceptance.
- Supported builds: Official GitHub Releases provide macOS Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux x86_64 packages. The Windows installer is not Authenticode-signed, which can trigger SmartScreen or organizational restrictions.
A safe workflow
Download only from the official releases, save any browser work, then inspect the proposed local-data scope before running an archive, restore, or delete action. Start with a throwaway Claude workspace and verify the archive and recovery path before relying on it. Treat browser and network readings as diagnostics rather than a way to evade security checks. If an action needs administrator, Keychain, location, or other operating-system permission, review that prompt yourself.
Limits and responsible use
CCBaga manages local application state, not Anthropic cloud accounts, subscription eligibility, or account policy. Its README explicitly prohibits use that violates Anthropic's terms of service. Network setup, if chosen, concerns user-provided infrastructure and credentials; it is optional and should be assessed independently for security and compliance. The companion browser profile and environment reports do not prove anonymity, region eligibility, or access to a service.
Alternatives and next step
CC Switch is a broader desktop control center for several AI coding CLIs. Claude Code is the official coding agent itself. Read CCBaga's usage guide and release notes before installing it on a workspace with valuable local data.
