TCM Constitution Analyzer

TCM Constitution Analyzer is a Claude Code skill from WellAlly Health (formerly Claude-Ally-Health), an MIT-licensed, local-first personal health record project maintained by WellAlly Tech. It identifies your body constitution type as described in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), explains the typical traits of that type, and suggests general lifestyle adjustments. Results are saved so you can see whether your constitution scores change over months.

Wellness guidance, not treatment. The skill does not diagnose disease, prescribe herbal medicine, or replace a TCM practitioner. Its herbal output is labeled upstream as reference for practitioners only; do not buy or take herbs based on it.

How the assessment works

  • The skill follows the Chinese standard Classification and Determination of Constitution in TCM (中医体质分类与判定).
  • A 60-item questionnaire is answered on a five-point scale (never, rarely, sometimes, often, always).
  • Answers are converted to a 0-100 score for each of the nine constitution types: balanced, qi deficiency, yang deficiency, yin deficiency, phlegm-dampness, damp-heat, blood stasis, qi stagnation, and special (allergic) constitution.
  • The report names a main constitution and any secondary ones, and describes physical and psychological traits.

What you get

  • Lifestyle suggestions for diet, daily routine, exercise, emotional balance, acupoint self-care, and the four seasons.
  • Trend tracking across repeated assessments.
  • Correlations with the nutrition, fitness, sleep, and chronic disease modules in the same project.
  • Warning signals. A very high score for one imbalanced type, or several combined, prompts a suggestion to see a practitioner. The skill also mentions health risks commonly associated with some types in TCM literature (for example phlegm-dampness with blood pressure and blood sugar) as reasons to get checked, not as findings.

Advice is graded in three levels: general tips, suggestions to discuss with a practitioner, and anything involving herbs, which requires a practitioner's confirmation.

How to use it

WellAlly Health is a Claude Code project, not a standalone package. Clone it and start Claude Code in the folder:

git clone https://github.com/huifer/WellAlly-health.git
cd WellAlly-health
claude

The /tcm command covers assess, diet, exercise, acupoints, status, trend, herbal, and recommendations:

/tcm assess
/tcm assess continue
/tcm assess result
/tcm status
/tcm trend

The questionnaire and output are in Chinese upstream.

Limitations

  • Constitution typing is a TCM framework. It is not a biomedical diagnosis, and questionnaire results depend on honest self-assessment.
  • Herbal formulas shown by /tcm herbal include doses taken from classical sources. They are not a prescription.

FAQ

Can I use it without knowing TCM? Yes. The questionnaire asks about everyday symptoms and habits, and the report explains each type.

Does my data leave my machine? Records are stored as local files. The analysis runs through Claude Code, so the content you ask about is sent to the model Claude Code uses.
